PhD Writing: Tips And Prompts

Amazing Tips For Completing MBA Dissertations Successfully

Are you writing an MBA dissertation, and would like to know the top tips to keep in mind when writing one? Taking on a dissertation of this nature is a tough assignment, and when you aren’t adequately prepared the task is even tougher. It would be advantageous to read through the following top tips so that you tilt the odds of success in your favor.

Never Risk Plagiarism

Dissertations can be stressful projects and for that reason some students are tempted to copy work from other high quality dissertation examples that they find. However, you should avoid resorting to this at all costs because it can get you kicked off your course. Also you don’t really learn much if you are simply extracting information from another dissertation, and presenting it as your own.

On the other hand, it is a good idea to use example dissertations to see what is expected of you in order to get the top grade. Just make sure to use the dissertation for inspiration purposes as opposed to simply copying.

Stay Within The Word Count

Most dissertations will have a word count associated with them. What most people don’t realize is that the word count should not be exceeded. Ideally try to write just under the word count limit – this is what the people marking the work expect. Writing more is not going to get you higher marks. You have to show that you can be clear and to the point with your writing. By writing too much it might appear that you are compensating for your lack of mastery of the topic, by attempting to throw as much as you can at the topic in the hopes of making something stick.

Be Serious

With certain types of writing being funny or using a light tone might be a great idea, but when it comes to MBA dissertations you must use a tone that is to the point and serious – humor will not go down well.

Imagine that you are writing a business plan to a bank in the hopes of getting a loan approved. The type of tone you would use should be serious, otherwise you might run the risk of looking amateurish in the eyes of the bank. The same reasoning applies when writing an MBA dissertation.
